For financial companies
What a listed company can do here, what is free, and the one thing that costs money.
Almost everything here is free
Claiming your listing, keeping it accurate, listing your services and fees, adding locations, replying to reviews, inviting your own customers to review you, and receiving enquiries all cost nothing. They are not a trial and they do not expire.
What claiming gets you
- Control of the information. Description, contact details, website, opening hours, locations, services and fees.
- A public right of reply. One reply per review, visible to everyone reading it.
- Enquiries. Visitors can contact you through the profile, and the messages land in an inbox you control.
- Analytics. How many people viewed the profile, and how many went on to your site or asked for your phone number. Real figures only — a listing with no traffic shows zero rather than a flattering estimate.
- Credentials. Registration and licensing details, linked to the register where they can be checked.
- A team. Invite colleagues, with an owner and editors.
The one thing that costs money
Featured placement. Your listing appears in a band labelled “Paid placement”, monthly or annually. That is the entire paid product.
Be clear about what it is not. It does not move you up search results, does not change your rating, does not affect rankings, does not remove or suppress a review, and does not grant any verification indicator. If it did any of those, the directory would be worth less to the readers you want to reach — which would make the placement worth less too.
Reviews
You can ask your own customers to review you, within limits that exist so a rating reflects your customers rather than a campaign. You may not offer anything in exchange for a positive review; doing so gets the reviews removed and is worth more damage than it is worth gain.
You cannot have a negative review removed for being negative — by asking, by paying, or at all. You can reply to it in public, and a considered reply does more for a reader than a missing review would.
