Our neutrality policy

Last updated .

Businesses cannot pay financialservicescompanies.com to remove legitimate negative reviews, improve their rating, hide complaints, or alter regulatory information.

There is no price for any of those things. There is no process for asking. If someone tells you otherwise, they are not speaking for us.

What money can buy

We sell one thing: featured placement. A company can pay to appear in a clearly labelled slot higher up a page.

Even then, three rules hold:

  • Every paid placement is labelled as paid placement, on every card, everywhere it appears.
  • Paid placement never displaces a better match for what you searched for. It lifts a listing within the default ordering only, and never when you have asked for highest rated or most reviewed.
  • Paid placement changes position and nothing else. Not the rating, not the reviews, not the moderation outcome, not the regulatory information.

What money cannot buy

  • Removing a review. A company can reply to a review once, publicly. It can report a review that breaks our guidelines, and a moderator decides. Disagreeing with a review is not grounds for removal, and paying is not either.
  • Changing a rating. Ratings are computed from published reviews. There is no manual override.
  • Editing regulatory information. A company cannot edit what a regulator's register says about it. Those records come from the regulator and link back to the regulator.
  • Getting listed as verified. Verification describes a check we carried out. It is not a product.

Where our information comes from

Every company page tells you where its details came from — whether the company provided them, or whether they were matched against an official public record. We show the difference because it matters, and because a directory that blurs it is just a marketing page with extra steps.

We are not a regulator. We do not approve, endorse, licence or vouch for any company. A listing here says a company exists and, where we can show it, what public records say about it. It says nothing about whether that company is a good choice for you.

Holding us to this

If you believe we have broken any of the above, tell us and we will investigate and respond. If we ever change this policy, the change will be dated at the top of this page rather than made quietly.
