Report a problem
How to report a review, a listing or activity that breaks our policies.
Reporting a review
Anyone can report a review. If it is a review of your company, the report button is on the review itself in your portal; otherwise email us with a link to it.
Tell us which rule it breaks. Our review guidelines list them. “It is unfair” or “it is inaccurate” is not something we can verify and is not grounds for removal on its own — a public reply is the right tool for that, and every claimed company has one.
The review stays visible while we look. Taking content down on the strength of a complaint, before anyone has read it, would make removal available to whoever complains loudest.
Reporting a company listing
If a listing is fraudulent, impersonates a real company, or is being used to collect information from people, email verify@financialservicescompanies.com with “Report” in the subject and a link to the profile. Tell us what makes you think so.
If a listing is merely wrong or out of date, use Suggest an update instead — it goes to the same people but gets handled faster.
Reporting coordinated or fake activity
If you believe reviews are being bought, written by staff, or posted by a competitor, tell us and say what you have noticed. Patterns are easier for us to check than individual reviews, so specifics help: dates, wording that repeats, accounts that only ever review one company.
What we will not do
- Remove a review because it is negative.
- Remove a review because a company asked and offered to pay.
- Tell a company who reported a review of them, or tell a reviewer who reported theirs.
If it is really a complaint about a company
Reporting something to us does not get your money back and we cannot compel a company to do anything. Every company profile has a Making a complaint section naming the statutory ombudsman or regulator for that market — free to use, and with actual powers. If you are in a dispute, start there.
